7 benefits of detox diet

Is detoxification real or is it a marketing invention? And why should we start a detox diet? Let's find out together what are the benefits of the detox diet!

In our modern world, many people lead lifestyles that are sedentary and include an unhealthy diet. This is the negative aspect of modern urban life. Most people, in fact, don’t move their bodies enough, and eat foods rich in saturated, hydrogenated and animal-derived fats. Even vegetarians are not immune: if we shop at the supermarket, we will bring home intensively grown fruits and vegetables.

This means we are introducing pesticides, hormones and other dangerous substances used in agriculture into our bodies. At the same time, the nutritional values of what we eat are increasingly poorer compared to what our grandparents ate.

We also often eat simple carbohydrates, refined sugars and gluten-rich products, but also packaged foods that contain preservatives, colorants and other impure things. All this would be enough to make us understand how our body is placed under stress day after day, but it does not end there.

We also have to consider the pollution derived from the air we breathe, the water we drink and all the toxins that creep into our bodies living in a world contaminated with plastic and heavy metals. A detox diet can help us to maintain our health and cleanse our bodies.

The need of a cleansing is not a marketing invention, but a sad reality. So, what is “detox” exactly? When we talk about detox, we are referring to a temporary diet that lasts a maximum of 2 weeks, in which we must try to avoid any source of stress for the body. In this period, we should be more active than usual, drink more water and consume with detoxifying superfoods.

The benefits of the detox diet

Following a detox diet, simply means avoiding the introduction of hyper-processed, intensively cultivated foods, rich in harmful substances. But it also means introducing the right amount of nutrients, including all vitamins and minerals, and living a diet with joy within a healthy lifestyle. This is something we should do every day, but we all know it’s not easy and we are exposed to pollutants even if we are very healthy. Therefore, strictly following a detox diet 2 or 3 times a year would be of great benefit to us and can help our body to fight all obstacles to its normal functioning. These are the benefits of the detox diet for the way we conceive it:

  1. It promotes intestinal regularity: oatmeal or Buddha’s Awakening at breakfast can help to keep the intestines healthy, thanks to buckwheat and oats, which are naturally gluten-free.
  2. Strengthens the immune system: the introduction of superfoods in your diet can help to assimilate the necessary vitamins, such as vitamin C, which are found in Baobab and Goji Berries high concentrations.
  3. It lowers inflammation levels: giving up unhealthy snacks and replacing them with an Acai smoothie, helps to introduce antioxidants, which combat oxidative stress of the cells.
  4. Increases energy levels: Replacing animal proteins with plant proteins, such as our range of vegan proteins, helps maintain healthy muscles with low levels of toxicity.
  5. Stimulates toxin depletion: Moringa, Spirulina, Chlorella and Wheat Grass are known to help cleanse the body as they deeply nourish us.
  6. Deflates the belly: buckwheat, oats, but also vegetable proteins do not swell and at the same time promote a sense of satiety. They are not magic, but precious gifts of nature!
  7. It helps you lose weight: a healthy diet like this, accompanied by an active lifestyle, helps you get back into shape and lose a few extra pounds. We don't believe in miracles, but we're sure that getting rid of the junk and replacing it with super healthy food is a good starting point!
