Veganuary: 1 vegan month that will change your life!

Veganuary is a non-profit organization that encourages people around the world to try the vegan diet for the month of January, but not only. This year we at Iswari are also joining the initiative. Find out why participating will bring you so many benefits!

What is Veganuary

Veganuary comes from the combination of Vegan + January: a vegan January. It is a non-profit organization that offers anyone who wants to try the vegan diet in January. 

We are not just talking about food, but we start with food. And it starts exactly from what we eat because food is central and fundamental in our lives, and also because there are still many people who do not pay much attention to what they eat, and how that food is produced.

In fact, one of the strengths of this initiative is the awareness of a healthy and sustainable, cruel free and affordable diet. Stars of the calibre of Joaquin Phoenix, who have just returned from the recent boom in sales of the film Joker, for example, support this project.

What is the initiative for?

As we have said, one of the main points is the spread of awareness about healthy, sustainable food for animals and the planet, but also for the less wealthy human populations.

During the 2019 campaign, more than a quarter of a million people committed to trying a vegan diet, while more than 500 brands, restaurants and supermarkets promoted the campaign and launched more than 200 new vegan products and menus in the UK market alone.

3 are Veganuary's main objectives: health, environment and animals. And these three points lead us straight to the heart of the matter. Why choose Veganuary?

Veganuary: why participate?

For 3 basic reasons:

  1. Health: Many people try veganism for a month because they want to see if this will improve their health. Hundreds of scientific studies link the vegan diet to a lower risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes and some cancers. Eating vegan is good for your health. We can't promise that everyone who participates will see incredible improvements in health, but many people already report improved sleep, weight loss and increased energy in the first month. Eating vegan should not be a painful or a negative experience. Veganuary aims to ensure that everyone who takes part in it has a pleasant, exciting and inalienable experience!
  2. Environment: Research increasingly shows the link between what we eat and the damage to our planet. Animal husbandry is one of the main causes of climate change. Animal farming is also a key factor in deforestation. Animal husbandry is also responsible for air, soil and water pollution. Plastic pollution in the oceans also depends to a large extent on abandoned fishing gear. Choosing a vegan diet is a key step in starting to protect our planet.starting to protect our planet.
  3. Animals: choosing a vegan diet means ending the suffering of many animals. Life for most animals on modern farms is hell. In addition to the cruelty and useless violence practised on adult and newborn animals, breeding offers us the meat and products of sick, weak, drug-intoxicated, frightened and suffering animals. We can do without it, we can enjoy the food even without killing any living being, and in a month you'll see how tasty it can be!
