Suggestions for Use:
- Suggested basic recipe for gluten-free sponge cake
- Ingredients: 220g flour mixture, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 170g sugar, 180g soft butter (or margarine), 4 eggs, 2 tablespoons hot water.
- Preparation: Mix the flour with the baking powder, sugar, butter (or margarine) and eggs until a homogeneous mass is formed. Then, mix 2 tablespoons of hot water in the dough. Pour the dough into a greased baking pan and bake at 180°C for about 50 minutes.
- Variations of sponge cake: The following ingredients can be added to the sponge cake dough:
- Chocolate cake: Add 2 to 3 spoons of cocoa with the same amount of water.
- Lemon cake: add the juice and the grated rind of 1/2 lemon.
- Dried fruit cake: add 50g of ground nuts or almonds.
Tip: The gluten free cakes will show better results if you use both the top and bottom resistance of the oven. Always preheat the oven.
